OU LA is a modern fine dining destination influenced by global flavors and techniques. It combines Chef Duke’s classic training and international experience with co-owner Nagela’s love of good food and their shared Caribbean heritage.
Fine dining with Haitian roots
Chef Duke is redefining Haitian cuisine with his innovative approach and deep respect for food. A graduate of the NY Institute of Culinary Education, he has cultivated a unique creative style rooted in using the freshest ingredients and honoring culinary traditions. Chef Duke honed his skills at prestigious venues such as The Mark Hotel in New York and rose through the culinary ranks as a private chef, caterer, and restaurant professional.
His talent earned him the honor of being featured at the James Beard House—an institution where he once volunteered and later received one of the industry’s highest accolades. Chef Duke has also been featured on NBC New York Live, The New York Times, The Star-Ledger, Industry Magazine, and Golf Styles.
